Heading a team of committed clinicians, is South African born ophthalmologist Dr Millicent Grim. Dr Grim brings her expertise and nearly twenty years of medical experience DUBAI. Dr.Grim's main interests are cataract extraction and lens implant surgery and vision correction surgery using the excimer laser (LASIK) and other technologies.
She has performed well over 3,000 vision correction procedures in the Middle East since 1997 and her experience in performing LASIK is believed to be extensive in the region. Furthermore, Dr.Grim has so far treated in excess of 20,000 patients and performed over 5,000 other surgeries. These include cataract extraction, intra-ocular-lens implantation, eyelid repair, corneal transplant, strabismus (squint) correction and more.
Prior to coming to Dubai, Dr.Grim initiated and advanced a high-tech Ophthalmology Department at the renowned Al Shatti Private Hospital in Muscat, Oman. Dr.Grim also introduced LASIK into the Sultanate of Oman in 1997. Dr.Grim is registered with British General Medical Council and is a member of numerous ophthalmic and medical societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She spent some time as a consultant ophthalmologist in Dunfermline, Scotland.
Dr.Grim represented the International Society of Refractive Surgery for a number of years in Oman. Additionally, she has presented scientific papers at several international ophthalmology congresses and contributed to a number of publications and papers. Dr.Grim continues to attend professional development courses and congresses to maintain contact with the latest advancements in her field.
